Count Your Blessings
“When you’re worried and you can’t sleep,
Count your blessings instead of sheep.
And you’ll fall asleep counting your blessings!”
Bing Crosby sang those lyrics in the movie classic “White Christmas.” I’m not sure how theologically sound they are, but as a young child they brought comfort and joy to my heart. Now you might be saying to yourself, “That’s great, but what’s up with Christmas carols in June?”… Blessings!
At times here in Cambodia we can become myopic.Surrounded by needs we fail to step back and count the blessings. This month we were forced to do just that, but by an unlikely source…the Cambodian government. You see AIM works under Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with the Cambodian government. These MoU’s are the government’s way of officially sanctioning AIM’s work in Cambodia. Anyways, our original MoU’s expire in a month and as part of the renewal process we needed to prepare a list of AIM’s accomplishments of the last 33 months.
In putting the list together the truth of Ephesians 3:20, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurable more than all we ask or imagine”, became evident. Below we share the list with you as a celebration of God’s goodness and faithfulness, and as a way of thanking you for letting God work through your faithful support of His work in Cambodia. You should know that as you read the numbers, the blessing is that each digit represents a step forward in the elimination of child sex trafficking and the advancement of God’s kingdom.
