Financial accountability is provided by AIM’s Board of Directors and the Board Finance Committee. The Finance committee includes the Corporate Treasurer, the Secretary of the Board, the Executive Director, and the Director of Development. The Finance Committee oversees the three main functions of the finance team; Donations and Deposits, Disbursements, and Reconcilement. Each functional area is managed by different individuals to ensure separation of duties. Reconcilement of both the US and Cambodia accounts and expenditures is provided by a hired outside bookkeeper on a monthly basis.

The funds are held in the United States at a federally insured bank. AIM’s Executive Director makes monthly wire transfer requests based upon AIM’s board approved budget. AIM’s treasurer and Disbursement Manager review the request before approving it and wire the approved funds to Cambodia. At the end of each month the Executive Director provides a detailed report of all expenses, including corresponding receipts. AIM budgets and expense reports are available to anyone upon request.
